Ceremony was a weekly gothic/industrial/dark alternative club night that ran from 1996-2008 in Pittsburgh, PA and featured a resident DJ team known as The Night Shift. There has been one previous Ceremony Reunion, in 2014.

DJ Alexx: Alex Reed, formerly of the band ThouShaltNot, was a member of The Night Shift from 2004-2005. He published the book Assimilate: A Critical History of Industrial in 2013 and is now a music professor living in Ithaca, NY. His current music project, Seeming, is signed to Artoffact Records and made many 2017 year-end best-of lists.
DJ Salo: Michael J. Salo had a goth show on Carnegie Mellon University radio station WRCT when he co-founded The Night Shift in 1997. He left in 2000 for job opportunities in other states. Currently, he resides in Chicago. He refers to his DJ style as “party goth,” and he spun at the 2014 Ceremony Reunion. More info: michaeljsalo.com/dj
DJ Badtz: Brian J. Parker had an industrial show on University of Pittsburgh radio station WPTS when he co-founded The Night Shift in 1997. He borrowed mixing techniques from the dance music world for eclectic sets of industrial, EBM, and pop. Brian was a member of The Night Shift for most of Ceremony’s run, and he spun at the 2014 Ceremony Reunion.
DJ Hiem: Jim Semonik claims the title of the longest-running member of The Night Shift. His ten-year membership began in 1999 and lasted until the night ended in 2008. He specializes in aggro industrial. Jim is the lead singer of the EBM band Red Lokust, runs the music department at Eide’s Entertainment, and owns Distortion Productions, LLC. He is currently a resident DJ at Midian PGH, and he spun at the 2014 Ceremony Reunion.
DJ KellyA: Kelly Litzenberger (formerly Kelly Ashkettle) had a gothic/ethereal show on University of Pittsburgh radio station WPTS when she co-founded The Night Shift in 1997. She was part of The Night Shift until 2002 and spun at the Ceremony Reunion in 2014. She was a resident at Obsidian in 2015 and currently guest DJs about once a month. She also books occasional concerts as Night Sky Productions.
DJ Crashzer0: Brian Staley was a member of The Night Shift from 2006-2008, specializing in futurepop, synthpop, EBM, darkwave, and goth. He was a resident DJ / tech / event coordinator at Pegasus from 2006-2011 and did theater, sound tech and event coordination at The Kaufman Center from 2011-2013. He was a resident DJ at Obscure and Effigy in 2013, and is currently a resident DJ at Pgh Requiem.
